British Shorthairs USA is a family-run cattery dedicated to raising exceptional British Shorthairs with sweet temperaments and the classic “plush” look the breed is known for. Our kittens are raised in our home with our family (including four kids), so they grow up comfortable with everyday sounds, handling, and normal household life.

Temperament
British Shorthairs are known for being calm, affectionate, and easygoing. We prioritize temperament in every pairing so our kittens grow into confident, well-rounded companions.
Care
Our kittens are raised with daily interaction, gentle handling, and routine care from day one. That early foundation helps them transition smoothly into their new homes.
Health
We follow consistent veterinary care and prevention protocols. Kittens go home with age-appropriate vaccines/deworming and a health certificate, and our breeding cats receive ongoing health testing (including HCM screening and genetic panels when available).
Adaptability
Our kittens are raised around children and normal household activity, which helps them adjust well. We don’t currently have dogs in our home, but most British Shorthairs do great with dogs after a patient, gradual introduction.

We’ve invested heavily in building an intentional cattery, sourcing foundation cats from Croatia, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, and the United States to create a well-rounded program rooted in exceptional, world-class bloodlines.
Each cat plays a meaningful role in preserving what makes the British Shorthair so special: the calm, steady personality, the plush coat, and that unmistakable “teddy bear” look. Our goal is simple—raise kittens that are beautiful, healthy, and a joy to live with.
